As today I started my French studies, I thought I could open this log. Mind you, I won't talk only about French, as I'm also studying Russian and Portuguese (Brazilian) but I've been studying them since 10 months.

I am mainly using assimil's courses.

Thus, 04/09/08:

French:

I completed the first 5 lessons, and wrote down all the dialogues there were in "French with ease" obviously, in the first 5 lessons.

I've seen how the very problem in French will be the pronunciation, as will the construct "c'est qu'il est" but I guess I'll master it soon enough. I've listened much to the audios of the first lessons.

Russian:

I Just listened again some old lessons thus I remembered words like БЛЮДО, the construct "ЗДЕСЬ СКОЛЬКО УГОДНО X-genitive"

Portuguese:

No important progress, just listened some songs, but not new ones.

French

I completed lesson 6 and 7 (of Assimil's "French with ease"), listened a whole lot of times all the 6 dialogues (as the 7th lesson has no dialogue) and read and listened to the opera "Carmen" by Bizet. Mainly because of my Italian knowledge, I could understand parts of it.
Also, I wrote down in my exercise book the 6th dialogue of the book.

Russian:

Listened to this radio www.vor.ru , no significant progress as now I want to memorize well everything I've learned so far, thus, as I did with French, I bought an exercise book for Russian only, where now I'm writing down all the dialogues/lessons of Assimil's "Russian with ease". Today I wrote down the first 5 dialogues, even if now I'm on lesson 44. It also forces/helps me to learn writing in Cyrillic cursive, which is heaps fun.

Portuguese

Listened to some audios and wrote down the first 5 dialogues of "Le Bresilien sans peine".

French:

I've completed lessons number 8, 9, 10, listened many times to the audios again, from the first to the last. I've spent at least 1 hours listening to those audios. I also added these new 3 dialogues in my exercise book.

Russian:

Just wrote down all the dialogues from the 5th to the 10th. It's a great way to practice your cursive Cyrillic, and to check the spelling of the words. I definitely recommend this exercise to Russian learners.

Portuguese:

No progress whatsoever, unfortunately. I'm thinking of leaving it where it is, for now, to make some space for my French. Portuguese is the language I'm studying I know better anyways, so I doubt it will be a big problem.

French:

Completed lesson 11 and 12, also wrote them down, listened another hour to the audios. The language is starting to make much more sense, the previous lessons seem already very easy.

Russian:

Wrote down lessons 11-14, thus had the opportunity to review some rules and spellings.
