I'm looking for an audiobook in Chinese, but I haven't been able to find any. I tried in England where, not
surprisingly, I couldn't find any. Now I'm in Taiwan and still can't find any apart than for very young children or the
bible.
Does anyone here know of any Chinese audiobooks available? I would prefer classics or popular novels over non
fiction.

You can find a hundreds of audio books and stories at VeryCD.com. Their material includes stories for children,
translations from Western literature, contemporary Chinese literature, classic Chinese literature, lectures on history
and science written for adults, teens, or young children. Some of it is obviously pirated of course. But there is also a
lot of public domain material.
You will need Emule or Amule to download. I use a Mac and Amule. Downloads are slow, but I have never had any
problems.
Justing.com.cn has thousands of magazine type articles in audio form. Click on every purple light bulb you see, and
soon you too can have over 10,000 files in your Itunes podcast folder.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've asked around about resources for the blind; without luck so far.
I'll try the website you mentioned. It sounds good.

FamusBluRaincot, did you configure amule in any special way to work better with verycd? The download speeds are so slow to me that it's nearly unusable!

Pyx: Computers are still like magic to me-I know a few spells, but don't understand the principles behind them.
The Amule software I use is indeed slow and clunky. I deal with it by downloading multiple files and leaving my
computer on overnight.
Here is another source of easy-intermediate Mandarin that some might not know about. The audio is very slow and
clear with interesting content. Click on the picture and scroll down the text section to find the downloadable Mp3
file.

Also, if you want some free mp3 files of simple explanations of Chinese philosophy, you can get them here:
