Yup I met a Congolese brother and sister in London, Ontario (of all places) who spoke

Hehe, that's a good one. In case someone didn't know: it's uncertain whether there is any place on the planet that's more violent than estern Congo. At least four million people there have died in the recent wars. Also, what kind of human rights work will you be doing? The organization I'll be with is a human rights defenders network in 10 countries of East and the Horn of Africa. I think their mandate is to make it easier and safer for other human rights organizations/activists to do their work safely and effectively. Exactly what I'll be doing remains to be seen. The internship is 3 months long, so I imagine I will arrive, get acquainted with their activities, and find a niche which best suits my abilities.
