I recently came across another polyglot on YouTube, native Spanish-speaker Mario Isla.

Cool link! Mario's Russian is really quite amazing, and to think he's only been studying for one year as well (with 5 months in Kazakhstan if I heard correctly)...I'm a little suspicious of the earphone of course, but that's probably simply because I'm so jealous that he makes hardly any grammatical mistakes and speaks so colloquially... ;)

If his Russian is perfect imagine his Portuguese! Mario has an excellent European Portuguese accent!

When I first watched his clips, I thought he had nearly the same prosody/accent in Portuguese and Russian. That was also my first impression when I had a look at "Oxford's Take off in Portuguese" course some years ago.

I felt so frustrated because I could not understand much of what he said in Spanish or in Galego...
I can only judge his English-speaking skills and his Russian. He speaks Russian phenomenally! I would say he has about 90% of native speaker's pronunciation. But not only that. The way he constructs sentences is impressive. That would be really interesting for me to see him speaking German someday... ya veremos :-) 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Yes he is very good but he has put me down and has said very rude things to me on Skype. He has said
