@Peter Carroll
As Sprachprofi said, it will be helpful if you add the option to comment on texts, so one can correct mistakes, or add any other useful notes.

Yes, this was one of my firsts thoughts. The ability to comment on the sentences and the recordings would be very nice.
A voting system for the quality of the recordings might be nice, too.
When somebody posts a recording, they should also be able to attach a comment to that recording, noting if they made a correction, noting certain emphasis they made, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I've added them to our TODO list.

Whoa - Peter J. Carroll? THE Peter J. Carroll, the author? Is that you?
Never knew you were into learning foreign languages! Genius idea, too, by the way.

I suggest you have some sought of category system.
I'm annoyed to see "hello my name is john" recordings. These 1 liners just tick me off some how.

@Astrophel: No, that's not me. I'm also not a football coach or an actor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Carroll
@WANNABEAFREAK: We are looking at tags and categories but we haven't decided how we want to approach them yet.

@peterjcarrol: Perhaps you could add a word count? Then people could quickly scan for "1 liners" (e.g. 12 words) vs. lengthy text (e.g. 120 words).

Peter, this is ENORMOUSLY useful, I can't even tell you!
So impressed that you thought of this and went ahead and set it up.
No doubt it will become a great hit!
And I am sure everyone realises that this is in Beta (or?) and that you probably have limited time to work on it. So the ideas and suggestions cannot be implemented overnight. People need to be patient and hang in there and continue supporting the site.
--------------------------------------------
Do you need tips on sites to go to recruit new users?
---------------------------------------------
Obviously people with a wide range of mother tongues are needed to make it take off -- so that the "demand and supply" is reasonably balanced for those who study ESL and people studying other languages, big and small. People here might be able to help with tips on specialised sites. Let us know.
Please can people not support this great project without worrying about copyright and nonsense? What has that got to do with anything? The site isn't even using ads at the time; it's clearly an enthusiast project right now. Don't abuse it, but don't run the errands of big business either. Knowledge is power, power to the people. Why would you even want to put copyrighted material on it - I am sure most people know where to go for that.
