Hi,
I'd like to know how you would pronounce the word "Vocostops" (actually not a real word) in your native language. Please pronounce it according to the pronunciation rules of your language. Please speak it with a sentence. This would be very interesting to me. Please upload a sound file and add what language you spoke the word in and add a translation of the sentence.
Thank you so much!

in Brazilian portuguese, one would most likely read it: /vokos'tɔpɪz/

example: "Eu nunca comi vocostops" = I never ate vocostops.

In UK English: /ˈvəʊkəʊˌstɒps/

Not sure about a sentence, but perhaps: "ensure the vocostops are firmly tightened before turning the ignition"

Polish: [vɔ 't͡sɔ stɔps]
Nie wiem co to znaczy vocostops. = I don't know what vocostops means.
The letter "v" isn't actually used in Polish, but is usually pronounced as [v] in foreign loanwords.

Rioplatense Spanish, city of Buenos Aires variety: either [ ˈβokoht̪ops ] or [ βokohˈt̪ops ] would sound the most natural to me.

In a sentence: 'me gustan los vocostops' (I like vocostops)

[ me ˈɣuht̪än loh ˈβokoht̪ops ] or

[ me ˈɣuht̪än loh βokohˈt̪ops ]

Do you want to know how speakers of other languages pronounce those written letters (c = k/ts; s = sh/s, v = v/f/β, etc.), whether they have those sounds in their language (v, st cluster, etc.) or do you want to know how the sounds you meant to point to using that English spelling will tend to differ in other languages?

In noregian there are at least 2 probable alternatives:

vu:1ku3sto3ps

or

vu:2ku3sto3ps

Where "u" and "o" have the values as in German or Spanish, where "1" indicates low tune and heavy stress, 2 indicates falling tune and heavy stress, "3" indicates high tune and ":" long wovel.

The "k" vould probably be pronounced unaspirated in this position. Aspiration is a fenomenon of very law importance in Norwegian and vary considerably between speakers and style of speach.
