One of my favorite language learning methods is to watch variety/talk shows in the target language. I am here to ask for recommendations of french variety or talk shows and where I can watch them. In learning Japanese I have been able to find an abundance of enjoyable material through youtube and various torrents, so I'm hoping to find a similar thing for French.
My preference is for shows that are humorous and for those that have some relation to music. To give a better idea of what I'm hoping for (for those familiar with japanese tv), I'll list some of my favorite japanese shows with a short description of each:
Utaban- the hosts interview and joke with musical artists, there is usually a musical performance at some point(this show is now cancelled)
Hey!x3- famous comic duo hosts music variety show
doumoto kyoudai-popular japanese band interviews guests in various segments, they usually collaborate with the guest for a musical performance at some point.
gaki no tsukai- famous comic duo along with supporting comedians compete in various games, the loser(s) are subjected to some sort of punishment
bakusho sokkuri monomane- (this is actually a special rather than a regular show) people compete by performing impersonations of celebrities

Hey, I'm learning French and Japanese as well!
You have a good taste in languages.
What methods are you using to learn French? Sorry for the off topic question.

I used Assimil, but in general I like to expose myself to the language being used in native media as quickly as possible. I'm not completely active in my study of French right now, I just listen to music and watch some tv and movie dubs here and there, which is why I'm here looking for recommendations on things to watch so I can begin to immerse myself more fully.

Bit of a late response but... Le Grand Journal might fit the bill.

The official page probably won't be accessible outside of Europe (it isn't accessible for me), but you can find lots of clips on youtube.

The French seem to love their variety and talk shows - maybe more than their political
shows. One that I can think of is Vivement
Dimanche. Just go to French TV channel web sites to check out their programming.
Look for shows listed under "Divertissement" and "Magazine" such as here:
http://www.tf1.fr/divertissement/
or http://programmes.france2.fr/
As Eagle32 said a lot of this content won't be available outside of France (though
sometimes clips will be viewable) so you'll have to be resourceful. TV5 Monde airs
Vivement Dimanche.
