I have been scanning the web for news programmes using a simpler version of their
respective languages. These news are often developed for people with different
disabilities (be it developmental, cognitive or sensory) to whom ordinary news channels
or other information are complicated to understand.

After recommending a student in Swedish to look for radio and TV broadcasts in Simple
Swedish it struck me that I could use this for language learning myself. The problem
is, this broadcast could be tricky to find and so far I only know of news broadcast in
Simple Norwegian and Simple Swedish.

Please post links to resources in a simple version of the languages you know. As for
now I'm especially looking for Simple Arabic.

Here are the URLs for the radio news and newspaper in Simple Swedish, hope someone is
interested:

If you want to stay in the Scandinavian neighbourood, here is the offer in Finnish:

Selkouutiset

It seems they are especially keen in the north to offer information for their immigrants and for native speakers with a lower educational level who are not able to digest standard newspapers.

Great, the Finnish Selkouutiset seems to be the same as Swedish Klartext, real everyday
news in slow (and simplified?) language. I studied Finnish before and listened to the
normal Uutiset of which I understood quite a lot (especially after listening to all the
news broadcasts of Swedish Radio International (arabic, persian, kurdish, romani,
english). After hearing the same news for 2,5 hour, you understand quite a lot from a
news broadcast :P So next time I'll listen to Selkouutiset instead of Uutiset.

At first glance the News in Slow Spanish seemed more like a kids programme but after
listening for a while they grew to be quite good. The negative aspects of having a news
reader with a very childish intonation is that you loose interest after a while - but
this was OK :)!

Thx! Waiting for arabic or persian news :)

There is a news program on "Kinderkanal" (= Kika) which is called "Logo". This program explains the news in simple German with good visual aids. Normally it is directed to children and teenagers. I have checked Kinderkanal's website, but the newsprogram "Logo" is not represented in their Mediathek. But for people who receive Kinderkanal perhaps on Astra satellite I can recommend watching this news program.

NL: Daarbij kan ik goed helpen, ik heb een goed advies voor jou:

ENG: With this I can help well, I have a good advice for you:

The Dutch news program for children from 09 to 12 years is called "NOS Jeugdjournaal" and is broadcasted on Dutch TV at 19:00 o'clock. On their website you can watch this newsprogram as videos.

Uitzending gemist: NOS Jeugdjournaal

NL: Veel kijkplezier!

ENG: Enjoy watching it!

Is this the Logo news that you are referring to?
