** Note: I´ve managed to fix the problems I had with the program. ***
Hi,
I´m confused as to how to set up FLTR for Urdu. I´ve been trying to follow the instruction page they have on
google, but when I try to read through a text
in FLTR no words get "marked" and no words are clickable.
I´ve tried to add both the Google dictionary and the dictionary at http://www.ijunoon.net/
Could someone help me out with what the settings should be in general configurations of this language?
Thank you!
Edit: Yay, I finally managed to fix it.
For dictionaries:
http://translate.google.com/?ie=UTF-8&ur&en&text=###
http://www.ijunoon.net/urdudic/urdumean.asp?utext=###
General config:
WordCharRegExp as: ا-ی\ے\ئ\ٹ\ڑ\آ

Just wondering how you install more than one dictionary? At the moment it seems like I can only put in details for
'Dictionary1'...
Am I missing something?

You should be able to add up to 3 dictionaries. I'm on my iPhone now, but when I'm on my Mac later today, I
can take a look at it. *
(btw: I've downloaded the latest version: there migh be a difference in how many dictionaries you can
add in the different versions?)
*Edit: I'll also give you the settings. The one I've written here is missing one or two letters in the "charexp".

I'm on the latest version as well, but can't seem to figure it out.
Another quick question: is exporting words from FLTR to Anki relatively straightforward? Will Anki recognise when
I've already exported a word?

Hi,
So, here are the general language settings for Urdu (as far as I´ve been able to figure out):
Set-up:
CharSubstitutions ´='|`='|’= '|‘='|′='|‵='
WordCharRegExp ا-ÛŒ\Û’\ئ\Ù¹\Ú‘\Ø¢\Ø ¤
MakeCharacterWord 0
MakeCharacterWord 0
RightToLeft 1
FontName Dialog
FontSize 20
StatusFontName Dialog
StatusFontSize 15
DictionaryURL1 http://translate .google.com/?ie=UTF-8&ur&en&text=###
WordEncodingURL1 UTF-8
OpenAutomaticallyURL1 1
DictionaryURL2 http://www.ijuno on.net/urdudic/urdumean.asp?utext=###
WordEncodingURL2 UTF-8
OpenAutomaticallyURL2 0
DictionaryURL3 http://www.urduw ord.com/search.php?Naskh=###
WordEncodingURL3 UTF-8
OpenAutomaticallyURL3 0
ExportTemplate $w\t$t\t$s\t$r\t $a\t$k
ExportStatuses 1|2|3|4
DoExport 1
So, as you can see, there should be several fields where you can fill out and add dictionaries (note: the last one I´ve
added is not very good).
I haven´t tried exporting it to anki yet, but if I figure it out I´ll let you know.
Edit: haven´t tried reading Arabic text with it yet.
I don´t know why two characters don´t show up in the settings, but they are: ا-ی\ے\ئ\ٹ\ڑ\آ\ؤ

Thanks. Extremely useful. It's also showing multiple dictionary options for me now, so that's sorted itself out.

....Sort of: I have a problem that "duplicates" are too easily identified*, and so although I know in theory how I can
disable this function (making it disregard what the machine identifies as duplicates") it doesn´t work. This is
mostly a problem if you have cards consisting of more than one word.
*Edit: if you´re adding the words to an already exisiting stack.

Does anyone know how to import words from anki to FLTR? I think it´s possible through spread sheets, but not
sure how. Preferably there´s a better way to do it... Any computer whizzes here?
