I have this sentence in a technical text which I would like to be translated into Russian:
"The basic command line steps to generate a private and public key using OpenSSL are as follows."
I have parsed the sentence as follows:
1)"basic command line" is describing the word "steps"
2)"to generate a private and public key using OpenSSL" should be subordinate cause
3)" are as follows" is the main clause.
I want to know how 1), 2) and 3) are translated, both in terms of structure and morphology. I also want to see a complete sentence in Russian when 1), 2) and 3) are combined together.
Thanks in advance.

Dear all, although this thread has been viewed by many people, there is no reply here for a week. Is there anything which is not clear in my post? Please voice out , so that I can make changes or clarify my question, so that you can understand and help me solve this problem.

Your question might be too specific, because one needs a good command of technical vocabulary to be able to answer it.
For my part, I wouldn't even be able to render this sentence into German, my native language. And that's not because I don't understand the English words, but because I don't know their German equivalents.

1) Основные шаги командной строки
2) для создания личного и общественного ключа (ключей) с использованием OpenSSL таковы:
But this only my guess, I can be wrong, I agree with Josquin here.
So, I translated the sentence without subordinate clauses, "line" I put in the genetive case, "basic" and "command" rendered as adjectives.

Базовые шаги в коммандной строке для создания закрытого и открытого ключей с использованием OpenSSL таковы:
Typically the private key is called закрытый ключ, and the public key is called открытый ключ.
Also acceptable (but less formal): личный ключ, and приватный ключ for private key.
Also acceptable (but less formal): публичный ключ for public.
I've never ever heard общественный ключ, don't believe it would be applicable here.

Я просто попытался угадать. На самом деле, я не знал, какие слова нужно употребить. "командный" все-таки пишется с одной "м".

Thank you for the responses! I am sorry that I cannot reply to you lately. Any way, s0fist, can you explain why a prepositional phrase is used to translate "command line" instead of adjectives? I know I sound stupid here, but I also would like to find out the rules in rending such a phrase correctly. Thanks.

More complete version would be "Базовые шаги, которые нужно сделать в командной строке".
Maybe "Основные действия, которые нужно произвести ..." is more appropriate, what's the context?
This calque "базовые шаги командной строки" just doesn't sound... russian enough. Or it may be understood like "basic steps that the command line do".
