I just spoke to someone from Assimil and they told me that Le Cantonais is scheduled to be released in June of this year, though they added that there could always be unforseen delays.

As per my last update from them, Spanish in English base is due out in the current month
and German in the English base in April. They were both already delayed last year, so who
knows!

It is a great pleasure to see Perfectionnement Russe coming out! I wish they will
continue to expand the range of their advanced courses.

Cantonese will be exciting, rather odd to see how few courses there appear to be for Cantonese

There's actually a pretty large amount of Cantonese courses out there, for a language that's overshadowed by being similar to a bigger and much more popular one. Not all of them are extremely well known, but there seems to be much more stuff for Cantonese, than for something like say, Bengali (unless there's tons of Bengali resources I don't know about).
But in essence, I agree, having a Cantonese Assimil course is incredibly exciting, and hopefully inspires a lot more self-learners to try and pick up the language.

I am surprised at the number of courses they offer with a base in other Romance
languages. Isn't French supposed to be fairly close to Italian and Spanish? I'd think it
would not be that much work to translate the French base into those two and then print
those books on demand since the audio is all the same.
