I actually would quite like the fill-in-the-blanks if it was a language with another
alphabet, just to get used to typing it

Instead of starting my own, I'll reactivate this one. I'm up to lesson 34 or something
on the French e-methode and it's great. I've never used the books but I assume the
content is all the same since as one point in the notes it refers to "this book" so I
guess they just copied it all over.
The most purely digital aspect of it is the ability to record your own voice saying the
phrases and compare to the audio. I assumed this would be sort of clunky and hard to use
but it's actually really quick and easy to toggle between yours and theirs in the one
window to compare. It's not super cheap but there's heaps of material and it's well
worth it.

But you can do that with audacity and the audio from Assimil yourself for much less!

You can do the FSI courses for free too and a million other programmes for free also. I have no objection to paying
for something well made that actually does the job simply and well and doesn't require additional technical fiddling
from me. (And actually Assimil is $139 AUD at my local specialist foreign language bookshop and $50 USD on
Amazon plus whatever extortionate shipping costs versus $60 AUD for the e-method so I can't in fact do it for less
and buy it legally, anyway.)
