Amazon.de

Stargate SG1 complete (10 seasons, 200+ episodes): 50 euro (25 cents per episode)
XFiles: 40 euro
Buffy complete: 40 euro

These are the lowest prices ever on amazon.de

Combine this with the tanking of the euro, and you get excellent prices in other currencies too.

Online streaming packages might be affecting DVD series costs significantly.

Germany now has at least six different video streaming options, most of which offer many complete TV series for free as part of their standard monthly package (and many others for an additional cost). For instance, Maxdome, offers the complete series of Breaking Bad, LOST, Fringe, Doctor Who, the Walking Dead etc as part of their standard package for 8 euros/month.

Maxdome doesn't offer Stargate SG1, and only Season 1 Buffy (for 10 euros), but some of the other streaming services (Sky Snap; Netflix; Watchever; Amazon Prime) might be offering these complete series now or in the near future.

I have no idea how easy it is to access these services outside of Germany.

How easy? Impossible :-(

I hope those prices will last after Christmas cause I cannot spend money on tv series for
myself right now, even though I'd like some on DVD as well. (As a responsible pirate, I
like to buy things I loved downloaded to support the artists and enjoy the movie/book
repeatedly)

And to complete my "I'm the bad luck Brian" rant: The euros are expensive now because of
our stupid central bank who decided "to support the exporters" by downing the value of
the Czech Crown. Exporters saw quite no difference (as their foreign partners are not
stupid) and normal people are f..ed.

Unfortunately this sale will not last (I expect the sale to only last a few days).

Patrick, do you know how much bandwidth maxdome takes to stream an episode?
And can these episodes be saved to hard disk?

I think if you can watch Youtube you shouldn't have too much trouble. They offer HDTV options as well as slower options. They (like all the other streaming services) offer one month free testing so probably quicker to go to their website and check them out.

You can download shows from Maxdome, but I haven't never tried it, so I don't know how it works.

Another good deal: XFiles complete series (200+ episodes) for 40 euro.

Ugh, I wish I liked Xfiles. I might still get it though...

I wouldn't pay money for these series. They already bored me in English. Would prefer to spend it on "Türkisch für Anfänger" (if it wasn't so easy to watch it all free online).
