I've been going through and digitizing some of the missing FSI language audio from official US government tapes using Audacity. Very little noise noise reduction was done (only 3dB using the noise removal tool). I've normalized the volume to -1dB. The audio was encoded using LAME encoder VBR setting 4 which produces large MP3 files targeted around 145-185 Kbps. I know, this is way over what is needed for voice recordings. But it also produces nearly lossless files. The final user can thus start out with the best possible file for enhancing the sound and re-encoding at a lower setting for their own use.
I've placed zip files containing all of the Kirundi (811.2MB/850574537B) and Swahili Active Introduction (206.7MB/216747140B) MP3 files as well as photos of the tapes used to produce the files here:

Man. You're still doing this, DemiPuppet? I thought that you would have been tapped out after having worked on the other courses.

I got hold of some of the missing FSI audio tapes a while ago but never got around to submitting the audio files. Since the FSI site appeared to be down, I decided to just post them here for now. Maybe the other FSI sites could use them as well.

These are awesome. Thank you so much! I'm trying to focus on Spanish at the moment, but Swahili is a big one on my list for the near future. These have been saved with my other resources. Much appreciated!
