I want to learn some Swedish. Although there doesn't seem to be a lot out there, I've decided to learn with some of the following
Beginner's Swedish: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0781811570/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl ?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2M98B6I0I3YVW&coliid=ITIXD2U30PPHD
Essentials of Swedish Grammar: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0844285390/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl ?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2M98B6I0I3YVW&coliid=IG4VBTSBVCGU6
I was also impressed with FSI Swedish
If anyone has experience or recommendations with this or any other material, could you please let me know.
I believe it is a beautiful language, and I want to visit Sweden within the next couple of years.
many thanks!

Check this out.
Everything you have listed above sounds good.

Today I am facing a problem here or perhaps is due to my poor internet connection.
This is my third attempt to send you a response. Anyway, I tried to copy the link of
the Scandinavian TAC 14' and 15' thread, but it didn't work. Hopefully this time
everything will work and I will be able to write my suggestions.
I would recommend you learning using Assimil, though you will need to study it
through French, German, Dutch, Hungarian, Italian or Polish.
Swedish is indeed a beautiful language and I wish you good luck!

Thank you Nieng!!! Always seems though as I cannot get SVT or any type of Swedish TV on-line - can only can get in Sweden...however, I have read that it you get a Swedish IP address/VPN, you can view all Swedish programming.

I get SVT online from the USA, so I don't know how you may be not getting it.
The only things that are blocked for me are Swedish broadcasts of shows that were produced out of Sweden.

Here is a link to Rapport (news) from public service television (SVT).
If you expand the link "Mer om programmet" you will see the information "Kan ses i hela världen". This means that it should be available world wide.

addition to the courses: Assimil Swedish - at least the old one was pretty good
(French/German base). Even if you can't find it in any base language you speak, it might
still be useful as a graded reader as a companion to any other course.
as for SVTPlay: hola.org browser plugin was mentioned somewhere else on this forum, it
works for me.

Getting links that work has become a common problem lately on this forum.
I think dampingwire has found a workaround to post long links that don’t get broken up by the forum software. According to this thread, widening the window when editing can help at least with some browsers. It's probably worth a try.
Anyway, here’s the Asgard TAC’14 Team Thread (the original list is in post n. 2), and here (hopefully) are those clickable links again:
