I have been working with Polish for a little more than 1 year. To my surprise, lately I began
to have dreams with portions in Polish. Totally unexpected. I wonder if others have similar
experiences.

Once a week or so I'll have portions of my dreams in Serbian. When I was studying Esperanto I would have
long dialogs in the language. It's pretty cool :)

I had my first dream, that I can consciously recall, where I was speaking German a few weeks ago. I was pretty excited about it when I woke up.

I actually just had a dream last night where I found out a few of my friends were practicing Norwegian with Duolingo and we said a few things back and forth to each other. I laughed when I woke up, as this would have been a completely unrealistic scenario on a few different levels.

I rarely have dreams in which I actually speak.

I remember having a dream where I shouted at my brother for staying on the computer for too long, about 7 months ago, and I haven't had a dream in which I spoke since.
I spoke in Serbian and it was actually hilarious. I was in my apartment sleeping in the living room, and I didn't know that my roommate was also there, watching TV. I shouted "Ustaj bre više, koji si ti idiot! (Get up, you're such an idiot!)". My brother stood up and ran outside, and I immediately ran after him. When I got outside, I shouted "Koja si ti budala bre! (You're such a fool!)" in a deep voice. I woke up immediately after that, but what I hadn't realized was that I was shouting it out loud. My roommate burst into tears, and I was like "Wait, did I say that out loud?". We laughed for about 30 minutes after that. :D

I don't remember my dreams very often unfortunately, but I have had a few in Japanese and
it is such a great feeling! I'm sure most of what I said didn't actually make sense, but
thats probably the same as when i'm awake anyway.
Also, my friend told me that I spoke japanese in my sleep as well! I was ecstatic when he
told me this.

I never have dreams in foreign languages but once I had a similar situation as
nikolic993. I was dreaming, as usual, in my language and suddenly in the middle of the
night I fell off the bed on the floor. :-) My shocked reaction was in half-dream, I
said in Croatian: O bože, šta je to bilo?! (Oh my god, what happened?!) My roommate (with
whom normally I was speaking in English and Italian) answered me, while
still dreaming, in his native Russian (I hope I will write it well, I don't speak
Russian): я тебе сказал (I told you). We understood each other well - I am still laughing
when I remember it.

I dream in French pretty often (just last night I had a quasi-nightmare in which I was speaking panicked French to a French person at an airport as I was missing a flight and they didn't understand me at all.... After I woke up I knew what I said was correct, so oh well, fictional French people!). I've had dreams with portions of Spanish, and I've even had a couple in Japanese. However, I don't think this has much to do with how much you're internalizing a language or anything, since my Japanese studies have never been too serious. But it's still a fun feeling!

I have a lot of dreams in foreign languages. Sometimes a whole dream, more often a few parts or conversations. All sorts of variations: ones where I can speak well, ones where I'm unable to speak, ones where I speak but others don't understand, or vice versa. I agree that they're fun but it's not worth looking for too much meaning in them. However there's a definite satisfaction when you wake up and realise that you were constructing complicated and correct sentences in your dream, and maybe the ones about not being able to speak or understand could be linked to anxiety, about language studies or in general.

After my first trip to Italy I had a recurring dream for the following week or so about being on a bus in Italy and speaking to people in Italian. This was before I had done much study of the language, yet in the dream I was speaking and understanding fluently, so I suppose it can't have been "real" Italian, must've been some sort of nonsense-Italian that to me in the dream was the real thing. That was quite an interesting one.
