why so difficult? there are some language learning websites offering that kind of chat. voice or video, without downloading skype or similar. i tried www.palabea.com and was surprised how much i was able to improve my Spanish pronounciation. nice is there are no adds or commercials on the site.

How proficient should one be if they want to talk with someone on skype?
This sounds like a great idea, but i don't think that i'm ready for it, cause at the moment, i'm only a few months
into portuguese. but it would still be cool to talk to beginners like me...or even natives, but i doubt they would
have to be very patient.
If anyone needs help in english and knows some portuguese... my skype ID is meus.azuis

I just signed up, too. But then, how do you find someone to chat with? There's something kind of freaky about it striking up an on-line conversation with complete strangers.

well... I just start chatting with strangers (text) I usually ask them about how spain is and such (in Spanish) and they would reply in english, and ask me how the US is.
so basically ya, just start talking to random people, but with Text first. I probably wouldn't want to just start talking to someone on voice.

Well, to anyone interested, my palabea user name is Cait O'Ceallaigh.
I've so far spent way too long on that site. It looks nice, anyway.
My Skype address is cait.oceallaigh.

I´m interested in practicing Swedish (very basic level). I can help with (Latin-american) Spanish from Argentina.
Send me a PM to contact me.
Bye!
