Oberst Redl and Mephisto. Hungarian-directed films but German soundtrack, though some actors are clearly dubbed.

There's a whole bunch of Türkisch für Anfänger episodes on youtube. It isn't very difficult to understand, but in some parts they talk just a bit too fast for my ears.

I absolutely agree. Another good film I have not yet seen mentioned here is Stalingrad, but keep in mind one should probably be interested in WWII or at least war films in general in order to really appreciate it. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

If you like more artistic films, Werner Herzog is a brilliant director. Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes was already mentioned, and I would also recommend:
