Today was another great day! Before I get into detail, I just wanted to let you guys know that I made a blog. Check it out if you get bored!

http://nihongoandputonghua.blogspot.com/

In any case, I watched an interesting medical drama, called "tomorrow", today (no pun intended). Although some of the vocab in it seems worthless to me now (like Touseki; dialysis and jinzou; kidney) I know those words will pay off in the future when ever I visit/move to Japan.

I also watched some Anime, including Death Note and D.Gray Man. There was a lot of commercials in the Death note episode, some of them were pretty funny.

I also listened to some of "Genji Monogatari". I have researched the story a bit on wikipedia, but my Japanese is just too weak to pick up much of it right now. I'll come back to it in a couple months when I am ready though.

As of now, my reading is pretty limited to manga and the "simple stories" at AJATT. But, this doesn't bother me. If I keep adding sentences to my SRS, I will be able to read more and more. Pretty soon I will be reading full length novels.

Anyways, I reviewed around 100 kanji via the "Reviewing the Kanji" website. I am amazed at what Heisig has done for me! I recognized (and knew the meanings of) about 97% of the kanji in a Wikipedia article (I forgot 1 or 2, but once I saw the meaning, I instantly remembered them)! I could have never done that with rote memorization, at least not in two months. I have said it many times, if you have not done Heisig, just do it. I have never heard of a person regretting the fact that they did RTK, unless they did it wrong.

Also, I have been watching some news clips on Fuji New's Network. Since I haven't used them a lot, I don't understand much, but one day I will understand it all.

I am leaving for vacation the day after tomorrow. My Japanese is going to be taking a huge hit, but once I get back, I will start working on fixing all of the damage. I will bring some Japanese movies/books/TV shows/ with me to keep already dull skills from getting any duller.

Well I am off to add some sentences from my SRS. This time I am getting them from a short story on Khatzumoto's site. I will update you all later.

EDIT: Due to this mainly being a "kanji log", I am starting a seperate log for my actual Japanese progress. Look for a new log by "Rekunoto".
