As far as I am aware Colloquial German 2 hasn't been published yet, it's due out in December.

Hi aleibe.
I haven't used it, but I do have a copy somewhere. It has been a while sinec I saw it, but I do remember it being all in German, including the explanations, which is quite a jump from the basic Linguaphone course. It looked thorough though, and Linguaphone always has excellent, clear audio. Pity about the price! A further course the OP may consider is Macmillan Mastering German 2. Unfortunatley, it's out of print, so you'd have to search for it. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

For myself, nothing compares to the series of books and cds offered by the German publisher Hueber Verlag.The series "Themen Aktuell" is the best you can get.You can order them from amazon or through a German bookstore in your area.It is one of the series used often by the Goethe Institute and it is one of the best you can get.Another series published by the same company is called "ziel".You can also see chapters online at Google books under book review.A series by Langenscheidts called "Aspekt" is also very good.The "optimal" series of books by langenscheidts is also excellent.Alot of the North American textbooks contain mistakes and often don't use German in a correct manner as it is actually used in Germany.
