Last night I started on Indonesian using Assimil's "L'indonésien sans peine". Indonesian has been on my hitlist for a while now and since I will soon start working full-time I want to enjoy my free time while I still can by indulging in a 1 Week Challenge. I will study Indonesian using the book for as much as I am able to these days, knowing that I will also have to help empty and clean my boyfriend's apartment... on the other hand the unusual day schedule may also help me find more time for studying.

Last night I intensively studied the first lesson, which was rather hard because of all the new vocabulary (I entered some into Mnemosyne so that I'd be able to advance more quickly), and did the second lesson quickly.

I find it hard to produce the T, especially in the word "tua". Any ideas?

Last night I managed to go up to lesson 5 while reviewing the ones before. So my understanding of lesson 5 is very shaky but the ones before I know increasingly well. I hope that this can become the pattern, because it would allow me to advance faster than Assimil normally recommends.

Dear Sprachprofi,

Sorry I'm late! I'd be happy to help, if you have any questions. I'm a Malaysian, but we speak the same tongue with Indonesians in general. (You may contrast our differences as you would the American/British English issue.)

Well, now I am up to lesson 10. We learned past and future already and the phrases are getting complex, too.

While I was at my boyfriend's place emptying the apartment my laptop broke and so I didn't have access to the recordings anymore. Also things got kinda busy. I stopped at lesson 11 for now, but I am sure to continue Indonesian in the future. It's a pity really that I didn't have any holidays so that I could try out how Indonesian feels and how much I can achieve if I study 5 hours a day or something, but I'm not going to have any holidays anytime soon and I just wanted to try it already.
