Day Thirty

Didn't do a lot of study today, but I went to a Russian club with some classmates. We were there for a few hours and spoke Russian at least some of the time; mostly to each other, but to others there too.

Day Thirty-one

Didn't do a lot today either.

Flash cards: got through all 250, so I'm up to date again.
Did some reading in Esperanto - maybe half an hour.

Day Thirty-two

I've come to a bit of a stand-still with my language study, as is evidenced by my last few day's updates. I suppose it's normal to have various plateaus, but I should at least try to do something every day, even if I don't feel like I've been making huge progress. That being said, I do feel like I've come a long way so far since I started the challenge.

I've tried to put in a bit more effort today:
Made flashcards for 32 new Russian sentences / short dialogues - these are still fairly elementary, but will be better than the lone words I've been studying previously.
Did all 41 flashcard repetitions

I had still hoped to do more, I'll try to get on with some more tomorrow.
I plan on doing:
More new kanji
Some katakana writing practice
Some Japanese reading practice
Some Esperanto - probably reading and more sentences
A Pimsleur lesson

Days Thirty-three to Thirty-seven

I've been very slack with updates over the last week or so, and slightly less slack with my study. I've been feeling very tired recently, and also busy since it was the last week of semester.

Anyway, in the last week or so I did manage to finish Pimsleur Japanese Level 1. I'm not sure if I'll start on Level 2 yet; I think my study time can be spent more effectively elsewhere.

I've also learnt about 30 new kanji.

With Esperanto, I'm now at a level where I can read a lot of things without looking up too many words and get a general understanding of the text. Hence, I'm going to focus on reading practice, rather than studying lessons. I'm also going to try to get in some writing practice, but hopefully my writing should improve as I read more, too. I do intend to catch up with the Lernu study group, however, as this shouldn't take too much effort.

Day Thirty-eight

My computer is now almost entirely dead, hence the late posts.

Today:
Did all my flash-card repetitions.
Watched about 1hour 15mins of anime (English subs).
Listened to Russian Radio (Svoboda) for half an hour.

Day Thirty-nine

Got through all my flash cards again. With my computer troubles, I had to revert to a slightly older database, hence some unnecessary repetitions. I now have the program on another computer, so this should be solved.

Listened to Russian radio for about 20 mins.
Listened to Japanese (a short story) for 10 mins or so.

End.

As anyone who's been following my logs (or lack thereof) has probably gathered, I haven't made much of a show here recently. I am ill at the moment, probably due to overwork (in my language study and other things), and I also have exams soon, so I've decided to quit the TAC as it's currently too much for me.

I have, however, been trying to maintain my languages and intend to continue doing so, but I won't be posting here for a while, at least until after my exams.
