Thanks for updating. So would you recommend the SK books? Are they worth the money?

I'll probably buy all the books you just reviewed.

It also doesn't surprise me that in the first 60 Pimsleur Spanish lessons you learn more than in the first 60 Korean lessons. Spanish is much easier (for English speakers).

You are welcome. I definitely don't have any regrets about buying these books, so, yes, I would recommend them.

Hi Iron Fist,

Reading through these posts I have to think that almost all the problems you are experiencing could be avoided if
you simply did not quit studying Korean.

If you had been studying Korean on a regular basis for the last 10 years, you would be amazing. You would not
have problems with pronunciation or listening. The problems you are describing can pretty much be overcome in a
few months (my opinion).

Despite what people say, I don't think Korean is some super impossible language for westerners to learn. You can
do it. Just don't stop this time.

I do think Korean is hard, I have certainly found it hard to get anywhere but I have continued to progress over time. I think persistence is the key.

I too found Mr Revere's books to be of use, they are amongst the best beginner material I came across, but I also feel both are a little brief. I'd also recommend Brian Park's 'Survival Korean Vocabulary', it's the best vocabulary book I've seen for Korean.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering how the Survival Korean Vocabulary book was since it had a different author than the rest of the SK series and looked like a vastly different type of book. Vocabulary seems to be the area in which I'm most lacking at the moment, so I may have to buy that one as well.
