Your message reeks of sounding over the top, and you obviously didn't read the thread. But you more or less are right.

The 'old bibles' that were found were not identical, though they were very close. The Dead Sea Scrolls, however, seem to be from a slightly different branch than the Masoretic text (which is the manuscript *family*, featuring two distinct branches, which the Jews and Christians base their bible off of today, and of which we have copies going back about a thousand years). "One letter different" is a myth, but there was, indeed, *very* little difference.

(I've written two papers on the Dead Sea Scrolls here at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and have even seen the copper scroll in Amman, Jordan. ;)

As far as everything else she said about Modern Hebrew and E. Ben Yehuda, it's been stated multiple times more precisely on this thread before.
