Spanish - Minor or Certificate?

The two university programmes are almost identical, requiring the same number of credits
and only differing in that the courses for the certificate are a little more specific.
What would you all think is the better one to register for in addition to my major in
chemistry? (i.e. what one looks better)

Another minor? I'm not sure what you mean. I'm studying chemistry as my major, and taking
electives in Spanish, so I figure I might as well get the "offical paper" saying I know
Spanish (yes, I agree that in reality any certification means nothing towards actually
speaking!)

The minor and the certificate have almost the same requirements, so I'm not sure which is
better to choose.

Oh.

Where I am the degree structure is like this:

1) Specialist
OR
2) Major + Major
OR
3) Major + Minor + Minor

So if you wanted documentation of your language abilities but couldn't free up one of
your slots, you'd request a certificate.
