While I was looking for mandarin practice materials, I stumbled across this website of mandarin readings for learners. There are texts at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. These are just what I've been looking for for a while, so I figured I'd share it with the rest of the forum here. There appears to be audio for each reading (at least at the beginner level), but I can't get the quicktime to work :/.

Thanks for posting that one. I know I have seen it a couple of years ago. I don't remember if I ever got Quicktime to work. Plugins are usually a problem; for me, they seem to work randomly.
