My only concern with another Latin-based language is that I'm still in a serious vocabulary development mode in Spanish. I pretty much have conjugations down and basic vocab, but I'm in desperate need of advanced vocabulary. I'm at the upper-intermediate level in Spanish and on some days I feel like an infant, while on others I feel confident. Sometimes I'd put myself as "Advanced," but then unknown vocabulary enters the conversation and I'm lost.

It definitely is if you were learning Portuguese or Italian, but for French not so much,
because French and Spanish sound and look different. Arabic left some influence on Spanish, but I doubt that if you study it any Arabic words would creep into your Spanish. I think for German this isn't a concern at all, but hopefully some others have some better insight into this than myself. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
