Hello everyone. I live in Jerusalem right now. I want to spend about 4-6 weeks this summer learning Arabic. I have looked at a couple different websites...
http://www.ahlan-egypt.com/alexandria/gb/scuola.htm
76 hours of MSA (Modern standard arabic)
57 hours of CA (Egyptian dialect)
and
http://www.arabic-studies.com/english/learn_arabic/lebanon/b eirut/arabic_language_courses.asp
60 hours of CA (Levantine dialect)
I was wondering what would be better for me, if I will be living in Jerusalem and wanting to be able to communicate with the people here. I know that the Levantine dialect is closer to the Palestinian arabic, but is it difficult to go from Egyptian dialect to Palestinian? How different are these dialects? Also, the egyptian course offers a good load of MSA in addition to the CA.
What would put me in a better position?
Thanks so much for your help.
God bless,
--Ben
P.S. Has anyone heard of either of these organizations?

I would like to recommend the Qasid Institute in Amman, Jordan. I have studied there and
will again in the future. It is very modern, very tailored, and they offer a lot of
elective courses. http://qasid.com/
It just so happens that as you're living in Israel now, you will be legally permitted to
enter Jordan (as opposed to you moving to Lebanon for classes). I studied with Israeli
students at Qasid.
