What do you do about the aktionsart of verbs and the inflection classes of various words and preposition usage and connotation and pronunciation being different from the support language mnemonics? Bilingual wordlists are limited by nature--if you expect them to make you remember how to use words you have a much bigger problem than these clever mnemonics can solve.
There's no reason to treat noun gender without covering those other issues--aktionsart especially is essentially "gender for verbs." I think it's better to just leave wordlists as a limited tool and use extensive reading and listening to fill in the gaps.
