	In my quest to maintain and improve Afrikaans, I just finished reading 'Jock van die Bosveld". I just ordered "Harry Potter en die Towenaar se Steen". (and a book of 'Blokkiesraaisels" (crosswords) for my wife - maybe I will do some of them). Goals for afrikaans this year - read 4 books, and write once a month in my blog. --- Ek het die boek gekry baaie lank gelede en en dit weer geniet. Ek will begin om a bietjie in afrikaans to skryf so nou en dan - miskein hier en op my blog. 1 person has voted this message useful

	The harry potter book finally arrived - Its write thin though (about 200 pages) I thought it was much thicker? Maybe the translated version is thinner (abridged??). I plan on getting it in Italian as well at some point. I was going to read it on the train - but then I though maybe its better to read it at home - where I can read it out loud? I got a digital voice recorder and I am experimenting with recording myself and then listening back to it afterwards as I thunk this will help me develop an accent. ---- In elk geval dit is 'n baaie snaakse boek - ek het die eerst bladsy gelees en het hardop gelag! Gister aand het ek 'n vrou ontmoet van suid afrika - die eerste suidafrikaner wat ek in hierdie deel van die land ontmoet. Dit was vir my baaie vreemd om to hoor hoe my vrou end haar met mekaar in afrikaans gesels. 1 person has voted this message useful
