I can't choose. Although I have a bias view on which one is better, I have to say that Russian sounds nicer. It can
sound different for multiple occasions. It can sound sensual and provocative, fierce and tough, or mysterious and
dangerous. I will definitely try Russian someday.

Right now I like Arabic more, but that's probably because my exposure to Russian isn't as nuanced and I haven't learned to appreciate it as much.

Although Russian sounds nicer than Arabic, Russian itself doesn't sound very nice! I mean it is in the middle of the list.
Nicest sounding European languages:
Romance languages: Italian > Romanian > Spanish > French >
Slavic: East European languages (Bosnian, Serbo-Croatian) > Russian >
Germanic: English > Swedish > German etc.
Nicest sounding Middle Eastern/Central Asian languages:
Persian/Farsi > Dari > Pashto > Hijazi Arabic > Turkic languages
Nicest sounding Asian languages:
Japanese > Korean > Malay/Indonesian > Tagalog > Sino-Tibetan (Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.)

I think Russian sounds beautiful. I don't feel I can make a fair comment on Arabic because I haven't heard enough of it spoken in the everday sense. It seems the only time we hear Arabic in the UK media is when Al Quaeda release one of their videotapes... but I can imagine it sounding beautiful in other, less aggressive contexts!

In fact, Chinese (Mandarin) sounds rather different from Cantonese, and very very different from Tibetan, Vietnamese, & etc.

oh dear Russian or Arabic, in terms of beauty, ... that's like asking me to chose between
my two hypothetical children... I just can't...
