Yeah, I second Cainntear now and reorder my list: materials and interest are nearly fighting for top slot with materials winning and usefulness is a close but definite third. I was thinking about how if I hadn't had a true interest in Romanian I wouldn't have gotten very far because I would have only seen TY Romanian in bookstores, assumed that was it and then given up when there's actually many free online resources. I wasn't thinking about some of the more truly obscure languages as far as learning materials go.
