Hi Everyone, I decided to just spill the fact that I'm learning Serbo-Croatian, emphasis on the Serbo ;) since I live in Serbia. My level of functioning in Serbian is appallingly low, I haven't taken a class due to financial concerns and I spend too much time speaking English. I'm trying (again) to get very serious about studying the language on my own and with the help of friends. So why don't I go ahead and write a little bit in Serbian so you can see where I'm at (I welcome feedback/corrections from any and all who know Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian etc).

Yikes! That paragraph was out of my comfort zone. I actually can understand a lot of what I read and a lot of what I hear but my writing/speaking is terrible. Please help me! After that embarrassment I'll try to work up the courage to write a diary entry tomorrow.

Do viđenja!

Juće gledala sam 'Miljoner' na televiziji (local version of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire).

Piću kafu i onda učiću srpski.

Prijatno!

Hi Bojan,
I have a few grammar books I do exercises in, I have a book (fiction) in Serbian that I'm reading (I get lots of new vocabulary from that), I watch TV in Serbian and I speak it when I can...no official 'method' I guess, although my main textbooks are from the Foreign Language Service which I guess is supposed to be good. Hm, I probably should have tried to write that in Serbian but I'm very tired at the moment!
