Hi I'm 19 almost 20. I can only speak English and some Vietnamese and little Spanish. I plan to learn how to speak Vietnamese again. I don't think learning again would be too hard since I used to be fluent in it when i was a child. But I want to learn Mandarin or French. I heard that when you are older it's harder to learn a language. So is 19 too old or just fine?

I say go for the Vietnamese. In the language world, there's nothing like being able to speak an exotic language that very few people attempt to do as a second language, especially a hard language.

While it definitely helps to start early, there's no such thing as being too old. I myself am 18 and studying French. You'll do fine.

It's easier when you're very young, for example 5 years, but it's possible learn a language when you're 19, of course!!! Iversen's about 50 or 55 (I'm not sure) and he learns many without difficulty. Probably he's genius, but we can all learn I think: for sure you will learn just fine. Humbert better shut up because he's absolutely wrong.
