Sorry if my English is not that good =)
because I was born in Brazil but my parents are Taiwanese ...i am fluent in portuguese ... and i can speak taiwanese an a little of chinese ... i am learning chinese right now ...
do you know the singer Wang Lee Hom???! he is very famous in taiwan ...and he was born in USA ... and he started to learn chinese whe he was 19 .. now he composes his own musics .. and also write his own lyrics ...
i am 19 years old .. and i want to learn korean, japanese, Spanish and improve my English and chinese languages skills ..

Hi Hsio, welcome to the forum! What does your nick actually mean? I've heard this Chinese words many times but never known.

My sister went to a concert with Wang Lee Hom in Singapore a few years ago. She told me the same story that you did about his background. Anyway he's really popular in Singapore.

I don't have any music by him, maybe I should get some. I can't speak Chinese but I think it's an amzing language and I particularly like written Chinese.

Sounds like you are taking on a lot of languages! Chinese alone is more than I could handle, lol :-) Which are you starting with?

Hsiao it is just my surname ... it is a chinese surname .. but not very common ...
since i am brazilian ... when i was little i needed to learn the portuguese in the school ... but in my house .. my parents always spoked taiwanese with me ... but they also knew chinese ... beacuse .. they belong to a generation that speak taiwanese and had to learn chinese in the school, because chinese is the taiwan`s oficcial language ...
when i was child i attended to chinese class ... so i know a little of chinese .. but now i am studying seriously ... but i plan to start Spanish in july and japanese in august ... and i want to improve my English, because at this point it is still limitaded ...
