I made hundreds of parallel novels in a number of languages, because I found out that it is much faster to learn that way, and I could share them with other people who were interested in literature. They made plenty of parallel texts, too. It's just a paradise, boys and girls (and both).

I must confess, you inspired me to do the same. For the past month or so I have been spending about ten hours each day doing just that. It is surprisingly enjoyable, and certainly is helping to improve my language knowledge. I cannot just "skip over" a rather complicated translation: the task forces me to keep plugging away, and the enjoyment of the stories themselves keeps me involved for long periods.

I don't have a lot of experience with this, but I would say the first is definitely true, but the
second is probably false at least when it comes to sexual relationships (and Eastern women with Western

They are both true. I meant the second, but not restricted to sex only. I do have a lot of experience
in this. Since you don't, why claim it's false? [/QUOTE]

First of all, I suggest you look up the meaning of the words probably and claim in a good dictionary....

Anyway, my suggestion that it was false was based on experiences of others close to me. As I made the mistake of using my real name when registering on this forum, I had perhaps better not say any more. Oh, except that by "Chinese" I meant in particular those living on the mainland, who are by far the majority. My brother's wife, for instance, is Taiwanese.
