I was wondering, are there any files or lessons that are available in PDF format? Also, is there anything for MP3 format aswell?

And what is the best way to start off Russian? I can already read, write, and speak most of the alphabet.

Take a look at the free Princeton Russian Course (download link). It's probably the most popular free course around.

There is also The FSI Russian Course (public domain), but I don't know if the audio is available. I'd be interested in it if it is.

Try looking at the various resource threads in this forum; I think that many of the general resource sites will have resources for Russian.

The best way to start (to learn Russian) - simple and easy to understand textbook, audio files with demonstration of pronunciation, intonation. Regular support of tutor to show your progress. Ask me for details.

Hello there, I am delighted to see so many people starting to study Russian. I have been flirting with this language for a few years without really studying, just texting here and there with friends. I have built up quite a vocabulary, and can read and write basic Russian. But I have almost zero speech capability. Can someone out there recommend me how to change this? Perhaps be ready to Skype with me from time to time?

Yes, you're right, but I'm just trying to find someone .... Another point, I've just downloaded (with great difficulty) the Princeton course which appears as a huge zipped archive. My new Vista Windows refuses to open it. Anyone got any idea why and how?
