I don't think Taiwanese will be very useful and Mandarin will be sufficient.

Trivia:
The sound of Hokkien is actually considered quite harsh and the expletives of the language is very popular among the different races in Singapore. It is very common to hear Malays or Indians swearing in Hokkien, even amongst themselves.
