What topic could be started so that all beginners can post in it, which would save a lot of repetitive new threads?
How about:
"Can I learn 4 languages at once, and if so, please help me decide which ones, and which courses and study methods would be best, and while you're at it, tell me how easy they are and how long it will take me to become fluent in them?"
Moderator, could you expand the character limit in the Subject blank to fit all that in? ;-)
(OK, can you tell I've been on vacation at home this week and really need to get off the computer?)

I suspect that this is the purpose of the entire forum. However, on some online forums, they have general guides for commonly asked questions (an example would be a thread on how to type in another language). If these threads stayed on the front page, people would not keep creating threads asking questions answered in the guide. I don't know if this practice is encouraged here or not.

Stickies are very useful. Maybe someone or some people should get together and write up a nice "how to" on learning languages for the first time, which languages are easiest to learn, and maybe a FAQ thread for questions like "is it possible to learn more than one at a time?" and such.
