Let me please recommend making so that your child soon feels a payoff, for example find a Spanish book, cartoon or comics, finally take him/her to a trip.

Adults often complain that kids find boring what they give them. I.e. a trip with 10-hour of flight/train, or hiking in wild nature with walking 20km a day - kids suffer of boredom and whimper, and that's why it seems they don't like trips. In reality, the only difference is that we feel virtue of doing such marathons. Just shorten the legs of trip (in your case - less drilling, and don't push on eliminating mistakes - they'll go by themselves with time), make it more leisure, vary activities, and everything will be ok.
