Does the sound/pitch of your voice effect how you are understood in some languages.
Lets say you have a very high pitched voice and you're speaking in a tonal (or any other kind) language or your mumble/murmer when you speak, would that affect if people can understand you? If so, would you have to change your voice from height to low or the other way around? Have you ever had your voice effect your communication with others?

I'd say that it would, simply because of this: If people speak with too high or too low of an intonation in your native language, does it not take at least a little more effort to understand them than a person speaking in a "normal" intonation? I doubt this would be too great of a problem, but I would imagine it would be more of an issue in tonal languages than in non-tonal languages.
