Did about 1 hour on Hugo French in 3 Months, and as ever I have focussed in on grammar, as I believe once I master "the mechanics" of the language, I'll learn quicker.
Today I learned more about negation
- ne...personne
- ne...rien
- ne...jamais
- ne...plus
Still trying to understand it more, so if anyone can explain it more, let me know.
I also did some work on this/that
- ce/cet/cette/ces
Also on how to distinguish
- ce train ci (this train here)
- ce train là (that train there)
Finally, I did some work on "ir" verbs and seem to have noticed a pattern. In the plural, its the same rules as for "er", but preceded by "iss".
Things I did well:
* picked up on the grammar of this/that etc.
* learned how to conjugate "ir" and spotted a short cut pattern.
* learned more about negation.
* refereshed my knowledge of m/f adjectives.
Things that need more work:
* so far, everything is good but I need to remind myself of the plurals of adjectives more.

Last night I continued to work through Hugo French in 3 months, for one hour and I worked on question words (quand, qui, comment, combien etc). This also included forms of what/which
* quel(s), quelle(s)
* comment
* qui
* quand
* pourquoi
* combien (also that you use de/d' in the negative after it
All in all interesting, but slow paced because I was tired.
* Things I did well:
- pronounced the words correctly
- remembered the words for questions
- mastered the forms of quel
* Things I need to work on
- "ils/els parlent" it sounds like you don't pronounce the last syllable and this seems strange to me. Is it true?
edit: typo

Last night I did about 45 minutes of Hugo French in 3 months and 15 minutes of Teach Yourself Instant French. I worked on possessives
* mon/ma/mes
* ton/ta/tes
* son/sa/ses
* leur/leurs
I also listened to the first two dialogues of TY Instant French. I've noticed that even though I don't know a lot of the words, I've noticed grammar patterns and prounciation rules. Very encouraging!
Today I also bought a large French dictionary with pronounciation software and Barrons new edition of 501 French verbs. I intend to continue to focus on grammar and pronounciation, and then "pad out" with voabulary. Within 90 days I feel I will be at a very acceptable level.
I'm about to start some more French.
Wish me luck!

Last night I was on a roll and did 1 hour 50 minutes! I found the 501 verbs to be an extremely useful resource.
I worked on reviewing all I've covered so far in Hugo French in 3 Months. I looked at how "lundi" is different to "le lundi": that is, le lundi means you do it often, whereas lundi is just the day.
I also made some flash cards for regular "ir" verbs. Instead of making a traditional flash card (target language word on one side, your language on the other), I made it with the verb and translation on one side, and related word on the back.
e.g. choisir: la choix etc.

Last night I did just under 2 hours on Hugo French in 3 months, spent most of that time making flash cards for vocabulary and verbs/related words. I also felt pleased because I noticed that "ment" seems to correspont in most cases to the English "ly" in adjectives.
Still doing so work today as I write, but will write tonight with how I've done.

Last night I did a touch under 1.5 hours on Hugo French in 3 Months, and also week 1 of TY Instant French. I did the end of unit test for Hugo, and was a little disappointed to get 57%. Having said that I did mark myself very harshly, like subtracting a mark for not writing an accent. I did much better on the TY Instant French end of unit test, getting 93%...I like! The only things I got mixed up were "c'est" and "est" and the prepositions "en/chez/" etc.
Things I did well:
* good verb conjugation including of irregulars and in different tenses
* correct gender agreement of adjectives
Things that need improvement:
* prepositions
* spelling
