You know you can just study both. Even though it may be a bit difficult you will have to look at the time you spend doing things that you dont even enjoy that much.

Continue with the Italian or you risk having to start over once you take it up again. Right now learning another language would be a distraction and you would lose the progress you made in Italian. I don't recommend doing both languages either. Stay with all Italian all the time and you will reach fluency faster. Then you can do German all day all the time and just refresh your Italian about half an hour a day. Nothing beats immersion.
