I've chosen Danish for the simple reason that my (very nice) dentist (here in England) is
Danish, and when he asks me one of those complicated questions that dentists always ask,
and, you know, you can't answer it because you have to hold your mouth open in a fixed
position, well, if I answer him like that in English, it comes out in almost perfect
Danish.
OK, well, that rather contrived (although perfectly true) joke, isn't really true,
because of course, for perfect Danish, he'd have to hold your mouth closed and not open.

I chose Norwegian for no good reason. I just liked the spelling of Norwegian words better than that of Danish and Swedish ones, haha. It started with a desire to learn a language on my own and one of my friends had taught himself Swedish, so basically told me to try it out. But I thought that was not original, so I picked another Scandinavian language. I bet this is the most crappy reason for starting to learn Norwegian ever ^^. Learning it has made me interested in the country, however, so that is the main reason now, I guess.

I like how Finnish sounds, but I don't know if it's Nordic/Scandinavian.
