I just watched an interesting German documentary about brain doping. It also briefly touches upon vocabulary learning and the Loci method. Since the documentary was produced for German/French Arte TV, it's available in German and in French.
Unfortunately, there are no subtitles or transcripts.
EDIT: Apparently Arte videos can only be watched if you have a German or French IP address. I.e. you'll need to use a German or French web proxy server IP address, which you can get from this site.
In Firexfox, you'll need to do the following to temporarily use a proxy server:
1. Select Options from the Tools menu.
2. Click the Network tab.
3. Click the Settings button.
4. Click the Manual Proxy configuration Radio button, enter both IP address and port in the designated fields and click OK.

I tried to get through to first the French and then the German version, but to no avail, and the same applied to a couple of other videos at the same site. There may be a restriction on where it can be seen. However I do sometimes watch Arte because my mother has a satellite dish turned towards Astra so I know that they have a lot of interesting programmes - though not all in both German and French.

I think I had that problem before when I tried to watch one of their videos using a Spanish IP.
One question for those who can watch it, it's not only my impression that the French is very clear and easy to understand, is it?

I'm sorry to hear this. I just tested accessing the web site with a US web proxy server and had no problems.
You might have to update your Flash player to the latest version. Right-click the Arte video window and compare the following version numbers with yours:
Arte Video Player V0.6.2
Adobe Flash Player: 10.3.183.5

I tried at a PC at my job, and there I still can't see the videos about brain doping, but a video about Piraiás (Πειραιάς) as the next Singapura was shown. So I'll just follow the discussion about the brain from the sideline.

It's not working for me either, unfortunately – I'd really like to see it! I get the message "Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten", and it doesn't tell me what the problem was. For other people, maybe make sure you don't have an ad-blocker on? I don't know if that will solve the problem, though, because I turned my ad-blocker off and it's still not working. I've been hearing about the Arte site for a while and would love to watch its offerings, but I haven't had success yet. Has anyone tried using a Germany-based proxy to access this site?

@Jinx:
I use Firefox with Adblock Plus without any problems. Try finding out whether you have the very latest version of Adobe Flash installed. For example, watch a Youtube video and right-click the video. The last line will display the version number. It should be 10.3.183.5. It you have an older version try updating it.
If you have the latest version installed try using a web proxy. I got good results with this site with a weird name.
Try selecting a German or French proxy and follow the steps listed under Web browser instructions at the very bottom of the page.
Good luck!

Doitsujin, thanks so much for the tip about right-clicking on a YT video – before this, I had no idea how to figure out which version of Flash I had. You're right, it was out of date, and I'm updating right now. I'll edit this post if this turns out to fix my problem.
ETA: I updated my Flash player to the version you mentioned, but the video still won't play for me. Now it tells me "IDS_LOADING_CONNECTION_ERROR". Maybe this is a country issue after all – can Arte only be watched in Europe, perhaps?
