Greetings!

I would like to discuss the importance of the music in the language learning process.
I'm a Brazilian and I don't have any family in Europe, and one of the methods that I've
found more effective is the "foreign-language-singing-method".

What do you thing about it?

We have so many examples! In my country, for example, Rammstein from Germany is very
well known, one of the strongest contacts of the German language with no-german people.
But I know a lot of groups, bands! Welle-Erdball, Wolfsheim, Goethes Erben, Unheilig,
Eisheilig, Lacrimosa, Angizia, etc.

But not only German! I hear a lot of Artrosis and Closterkeller from Poland, and I love
to learn with them how to pronounce the words by the "foreign-language-singing-method".

I also like Lumsk and Svartediket from Norway! Or Arkona (Russian), Ethereal
Pandemonium (Slovakia), Laibach (Slovenia), etc.

So, just like the Movies, I just think that the music has a very significant role in
the language learning process. It's very important to sing and maintain contact with
the language, since you don't have any parents in the country which speaks the language
that you're learning (My case).

I think that the combination of Music, Movies, Books, Radios and Videos makes one
achieve the goal of learning a completely foreign language alone, because it's also
entertaining and keeps the brain connected with all those outsider sounds.

I think that music is great to contribute to your language learning. It's short, you listen to it many times and remember the words almost effortlessly, it's enjoyable. Combined with other resources it should be one of the meals in the healthy input diet ;)

My opinion is songs still are underestimated for learning languages.
They mostly are used for listening, but not for the speaking practice.
