Dear all,

As the topic suggested, I am quite curious on what types of websites would you guys
visit on a daily basis for perhaps, just the sake of acquiring relevant information on
learning your target language(s). Or just merely in order to keep abreast of what is
happening around the world in order to prevent oneself from being lagged behind, where
will you often browse and surf around?

As far as the daily routine of one ordinary diglot like myself is concerned, I would
mostly go to check up latest news available via guardian and huffingtonpost, despite
the fact I live in Sydney, haha. For mandarin bi-directional translation purposes, I
would visit yeeyan.org (Hope this one is not a IP infringer!)where newbies and
translators-to-be can submit their rendition of certain English-written articles into
Chinese for the mainland audience who generally won't get in touch with out-of-touch
accounts of various incidents, reported by the "evil Western media", well, for the
reason of what you probably already know!

I might just have to trouble you with my request of some general recommendations on
what kind of websites would you guys suggest to visit for C1 English learners like
myself, apart from two abovementioned ones :)

Regards as always,
Chenyang

PS: I am a psychology major and my tutor recommended me to check out this one as well,
to which I already enjoy myself quite frequently: scientopia.org/blogs/scicurious/

Thanks!

I visit Twitter, You Tube, LingQ, my own language blog and the forum of my former astronomy club regularly.

In addition to this forum and similar (e.g. Unilang, Fluent in 3 Months), I check out from time to time unzum's big collection, ERIC and FSI Language Courses for new legally-available learning material.

I also come across useful videos to improve my passive abilities on YouTube and YLE Areena (Finnish and Saamic only).

Very frequently (at least 2-3 times a week):That site in Uzbekistan that must
not be named (including their forum and affiliated sites gr*****b and sk***a); a site I
probably also shouldn't name but whose Spanish name implies that they are literally
addicted to series; youtube (so many films and TV series in Spanish on there now!)
Cainntear's blog linguafrankly (though uncharacteristically he hasn't posted for
about a month now); http://marcoele.com (I don't actually go looking for things on this
site, I just always seem to end up there); wordreference.com.

Occasionally: Ajatt (even though I'm not learning Japanese); Antimoon; ALG
world; Fluent in 3 months; Spanish-only.com, Harold Goodman's blog
learnatarium and liddytime's blog Mainly Magyar; the FSI site and
Unzum's site (as with Chung to see if there's anything new); the DLI stuff on JLU
(mainly for Gloss and telephone conversations, but sometimes just to browse wistfully
the catalogue of basic courses I'll probably never have time to do;
languagetransfer.org (to see if Greek 4 is ready yet); the RTVE site; librivox; Norsk
Experiment (http://www.apronus.com/norsk/).

This is the only website about language that I visit. And it's my least visited. I go on college and movie
(box office) forums :P
