Is anyone using http://verbling.com/ to practice a second language. I haven't signed up yet but I might give it a try. It is voice chat only, starting with 5+5 minutes, which can be extended indefinitely.
I just stumbled across it today. It has been going for about a year. It uses an interesting concept. It apparently supports 11 languages. It is free. Here are some reviews:

Sounds very interesting. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find which languages these 11 languages are.

Come on, why only 11 languages? I'm not fluent in English. They could have at least added the option 'Another language'. The world is far more than those 11 langs. >:C

That is an annoyance I found also. It seems the only way to find out is to join up, which I did. You see the list when you are asked which language you want to learn. I didn't copy it down because I expected to be able to see it again. But I have not been able to.
Anyone, I signed up and choose English-Spanish. Immediately I was in a chat with a Venezuelan for 10 minutes and immediately after that with a Mexican. But at the time I was on line, English-Spanish was the only option. I presume that was because only Spanish native speakers were online. There was almost no interface to explore the site and no option of selecting another language and waiting for a native speaker.
The interface and the audio/video were good quality, but there was a lot I didn't like about the interface. Much was missing.
Immediately after I signed off, there was an email in my in-box from Verbling.com asking how I liked the site and requesting suggestions. So I gave them a long list of suggestions and questions.
It looks like if you are an anglophone learning Spanish, you can probably get almost non-stop chats.

It looks like an interesting concept indeed but so far the only possible option has been English - Spanish and I surely won't pretend to be an English native speaker. Perhaps it's better a little later on when it's evening in Europe.

I logged into Verbling.com a few minutes ago and there was a Spanish speaker ready for a chat. This seems to be a super site for those looking for Spanish chats.
I had the possibility to select either Spanish or French as my TL, after logging in. I switched to French but it said French wasn't currently available. I don't know if that meant that French chat is not yet supported or that it is but there were no native French speakers currently online.
There are many web pages with info on Verbling.com. Here is one that says that Verbling was started in 2011 by two Stanford students. It says that currently only English-Spanish is supported but they expect 10 languages by the end of 2012, including Arabic, French, Chinese and German. They apparently acquired over $1 million in start-up funding. There appears to be a lot of interest with lots of requests for more languages.
