I was doing some Google for language learning and found Livemocha.com.

It looks pretty neat, but does anyone here have any experience with it? TThey apparently
have a ton of members, and you know, all the bells and whistles, claiming that you can
learn 38 languages there, but is there material worthwhile? Can you use it and get
anywhere? I will browse it on my own, too, just wondering about anyone's past or current
experiences there!

Livemocha gets pretty good praise here on HTLAL. You can always try it out for free and
see what you think of it.

There's another similar site, busuu.com that you may also want to check out.
Personally, I tried both and opted for busuu over Livemocha - I suppose because I liked
the feel of the site a bit more. But either site will give you a good base, I would
think.

One thing I'd definitely try to take advantage of is the chat feature (available on
both sites). I've been able to get in a lot of practice by chatting, and conversation
partners are relatively easy to come by, boyfriend/girlfriend wannabes notwithstanding.

Thanks alot, hrhenry. I appreciate the feedback! I think I will have to make use of both
of those sites, especially since I need to sample plenty of languages before I can make a
concrete decision on which one to focus on! Thanks again!

I don't really like their method, which I think it's a cheaper Rosetta Stone (and they both suck), but I love the social part of it. I use it pretty much everyday to find TL natives to chat with, and it's really good.
