Coursera is the company and web site that provides free online high-quality courses on behalf of 33 major universities. There are currently 195 courses available on a very wide range of subjects. Most, if not all, are in English.

However, each of the courses usually attracts on the order of 60,000 students from around the world. There is a built-in course forum for each course that is very, very active. And it is multilingual. Many of the non-English-speaking students organise themselves into native language sub-forums. This is an excellent opportunity to follow or participate in detailed, quality, subject-oriented discussions on a wide variety of interesting subjects in a variety of native languages. Besides, you can learn a lot about the subjects being discussed and studied.

You have to join a Coursera course to get access. But there surely is a course for almost any interest. Check out the offerings.
